How To Create Wifi Hotspot in Windows With Connectify

Create WiFi Hotspot in Windows with Free Software Connectify Just a few years back Wi-Fi was considered a premum feature in mobile phones. Now even entry level mobiles are coming equipped with Wi-Fi. Using Wi-Fi we can enjoy free internet on our mobiles in Wi-Fi hotspots. But what if you don’t have a Wi-Fi hotspot near by or don’t have a Wi-Fi router . We can still share our internet computer’s internet connection with other Wi-Fi equipped devices like mobile phones, iPad, iPod touch etc. For this we need to use a freeare called Connectify. Connectify turns a laptop to a Wi-Fi hotspot.

How To Hide Real IP Address for Free?

How To Hide your Real IP Address for Free? Many time you get ban from forums and you’re not allowed to access it as they have detect and banned your ID address, or the website which are ban in your country you can access them by hiding your real IP address and can access forums too.

Today hackers are more rampant and can break anyone’s computer or can monitor your activity by hacking your IP address, recently Amit Agrawal’s blog, labnol facebook page got hacked. If you don’t want to face such situation and want to stay safe online, the best way is to keep your IP address from being shown to others.

Box Makes File Sharing Easy

Box.Com Makes File Sharing Easy Ever felt constrained when sending large files of information across prospects, clients or business partners? FTP never really caught on as a popular or user-friendly option, and email attachments have their own limitations and bottlenecks. Having shared directories on internal file servers limited access and made more work for IT teams internal.

The rise of cloud computing now offers a convenient solution, and among the various cloud based offerings that allows storing, managing and sharing content online, as easy as sending an email, is Box. What sets Box apart from the rest is its ability to leverage two basic, yet time-tested principles as its unique selling proposition – simplicity and speed.

Self-Adapting Computer Network That Defends Itself Against Hackers?

Self-adapting computer network that defends itself against hackers? In the online struggle for network security, Kansas State University cybersecurity experts are adding an ally to the security force: the computer network itself.

Scott DeLoach, professor of computing and information sciences, and Xinming "Simon" Ou, associate professor of computing and information sciences, are researching the feasibility of building a computer network that could protect itself against online attackers by automatically changing its setup and configuration.
DeLoach and Ou were recently awarded a five-year grant of more than $1 million from the Air Force Office of Scientific Research to fund the study "Understanding and quantifying the impact of moving target defenses on computer networks." The study, which began in April, will be the first to document whether this type of adaptive cybersecurity, called moving-target defense, can be effective. If it can work, researchers will determine if the benefits of creating a moving-target defense system outweigh the overhead and resources needed to build it.

Western Digital Releases New Series of "My Net" Wireless Routers

Western Digital Releases New Series of "My Net" Wireless Routers
Western Digital has entered the home networking business with a new line of wireless routers that aim to enhance HD streaming media like movies and gaming.

The new routers, called My Net, are part of a family of home networking products that accelerate HD streaming performance using Western Digital's FasTrack technology. This new tech targets traffic on the network and "fast-forwards" it to other devices like gaming consoles, smartphones and tablets.

The My Net family consists of five wireless routers, including the My Net N900 Central, the My Net N900, the My Net N750, the My Net N600 and the My Net Switch.

How to Work ISDN...?

• During the 1980s, a new technology called ISDN or Integrated Services Digital Network was developed by BT.
• ISDN makes use of DIGITAL technology.
• It was prohibitively expensive so only businesses could initially afford it.  As with all new
technology, prices eventually fell and the cost of this technology is now within reach of
 homeowners.
• For domestic users the BT ISDN service is called 'Home Highway'
• Integrated Services Digital Network is a telephone system network. Prior to the ISDN, the
phone system was viewed as a way to transport voice, with some special services available
  for data.

The key feature of the ISDN is that it integrates speech and data on the same lines, adding features that were not available in the classic telephone system.

Evolution of Parallel SCSI

•Developed by Shugart Associates & named as SASI
•ANSI acknowledged SCSI as an industry standard
•Prior to the development of SCSI,the interface used to communicate with devices varied with each device.
For example,an HDD interface could only be used with a hard disk drive.
•SCSI versions:
–SCSI–1
•Defined cable length, signaling characteristics, commands, & transfer modes
•Used 8-bit narrow bus with maximum data transfer rate of 5 MB/s
–SCSI–2
•Defined Common command Set (CCS)
•Improved performance, reliability, and added additional features
–SCSI–3
•Latest version of SCSI,
•Comprised different but related standards, rather than one large document.

Cache Management: Watermarking

•Manage peak I/O requests “bursts” through flushing/de-staging
–Idle flushing, High Watermark flushing and Forced flushing
•For maximum performance:
–Provide headroom in write cache for I/O bursts

Idle flushing                 High watermark flushing              Forced flushing

What is an Intelligent Storage System

Intelligent Storage Systems are RAID arrays that are:
•Highly optimized for I/O processing
•Have large amounts of cache for improving I/O performance
•Have operating environments that provide:
–Intelligence for managing cache
–Array resource allocation
–Connectivity for heterogeneous hosts
–Advanced array based local and remote replication options

Interconnection between Hosts or between a Host and any storage devices

Connectivity

• Interconnection between hosts or between a host and any storage devices
Physical Components of Connectivity are:
Bus, port and cable

17 May 2012

Internet Protocol

IP Addresses

• Every Computer that is connected to internet has unique IP Address.
• It is 32 bit number.
• Two types of IP Address.
• Static IP – Remain Same at every session
• Dynamic IP – Changed at Every Session.

• IANA manages global IP ranges space.
• IANA works in cooperation with five Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) to allocate IP address blocks to Local Internet Registries (Internet service providers) and other entities.

Virtual Memory Technology

All previous discussed memory management schemes require that whole process to be in memory before process can execute. That’s why need memory management algorithms.

“Virtual Memory” is a technique that allows the execution of processes that may not be completely in memory.

Virtual memory is separation of user logical memory from physical memory. This separation allows that an extremely large virtual memory is to be provided for programmers when only a smaller physical memory is available.

Virtual memory is commonly implemented by “Demand Paging”.

Direct Attached Storage (DAS)

Upon completion of this lesson, you will be able to:
Discuss the benefits of DAS
Describe the elements of DAS
