Flipboard becomes prominent Google+ partner

Google isn't ready to open up a Google+ interface to just anybody yet, but it has done so with one important partner, Flipboard.

Say hello to Dell’s Windows 8 tablet

The fine folks over at NeoWin managed to secure a slide detailing the specifications for Dells’ forthcoming Windows 8 tablet. Of course, Dell may issue several other models, but this appears to be, at a minimum, one of them.

The tablet is an Intel-based device, with a 10.1″ screen. Internal hard drive space will be provided by an SSD that will hold up to 128 gigabytes. The machine will pack 2 gigabytes of RAM. The rest of the specs are below, on the slide itself:

New Tablet Display Lets Retailers Engage Customers

If you’re a retailer you might be interested in a new interactive tablet display that can be used to engage customers in all sorts of ways. Called the i View Android, it can be used to promote products, display specials, let customers play games, register for loyalty programs, give feedback, scan QR codes, print coupons or access Web sites. This video even shows restaurant patrons using it to order from a menu.

On Monday Microsoft will maybe announce a table

On Monday at 3:30pm pacific time Microsoft will unveil something that "you will not want to miss," the company says. Our senior Microsoft editor Peter Bright will be in LA giving you the juicy details, but All Things D and The Wrap seem to have all but confirmed that the announcement will be a new tablet.

Last night, “an individual with knowledge of the company said that Microsoft would introduce a Microsoft-manufactured tablet at the event,” The Wrap reported, “marking a foray into a new hardware category that would put the company in direct competition with giant rival Apple.”
